Space Theory kitchens include a way to activate the walls in a kitchen. This achieves two things. The first is clearing the counter, giving you more room to prep and serve. The second is making the things you use easy to see and find and pick up without moving anything else to get to them. That creates a feeling of flow and confidence in the kitchen.
The Space Theory Backsplash System works in conjunction with the Drawer System, working together to change the way it feels to cook, clean and serve in a kitchen.
There are two ways to design this backsplash functionality into your Space Theory kitchen.
You can purchase a wood, acrylic or aluminum backsplash from Henrybuilt, pre-fitted for our Opencase System, which allows you to set up the backsplash in various ways and change it over time if you want to. For example if you decide you want a shelf instead of a utensil bar.
The other way to implement the Backsplash System is to use stone or tile or any material you wish and use our Top Rail Backsplash System to allow for the same functionality and more.
The same Opencase System can be used on the wall in other areas within your kitchen, including to create pantry functionality. There are many components that enable you to create shelving of different types, wine storage, wine racks, bins etc. You can move these elements around to optimize for your needs at any time.
Acrylic counters can be purchased, as well as sinks, with the counters arriving with all visible faces and edges finished and ready to install with the sink cutout in place. One advantage of purchasing counter and backsplash from Henrybuilt with your kitchen is that you can install everything at once, with no templating or waiting for a third party.
